No One Wants To Direct 'Ant-Man'

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that director Adam Mckay (Anchorman) has pulled out of negotiations to direct Marvel Studios Ant-Man. The film lost Edgar Wright last week and now Adam Mckay doesn't want anything to do with it. This can only mean one thing. That the rewritten script sucks. Well hopefully Marvel can nab Zombieland director Rueben Fleischer or Rawson Marshall Thurber to direct this piece of shit. If not I guess I would attach my name to the project if asked, but only if I could bring in some of my own actors. Ryan Keough as Eggman and Dan Lee as Taskmaster, smells like Oscar gold! We can turn this shit around. Ant-Man is still expected to be released 2015.

Josh Brolin Cast as Thanos

Josh Brolin (Jonah Hex, MIB 3) will voice the Mad Titan for the post-production process of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, directed by James Gunn and hitting theaters August 1st of this year. The news comes courtesy of sources close to Latino Review and confirmed by Variety.

Brolin hit a big cinematic stride following his role as the lead in the Coen brothers’ No Country for Old Men (2007), which won four Academy Awards and three Oscars. Brolin has also exercised comic book/sci-fi chops in Jonah Hex (2010); the American adaptation of the Korean hit, Oldboy (2013); and as a young Tommy Lee Jones in the third and most ambitious film installment of the Men in Black franchise (2012).

Marvel has also given Brolin the option to reprise his role as Thanos in the filming of both Avengers 2 and Avengers 3, the latter of which GOTG will most likely be tied into.

Prepare yourselves. For now, I summon... the end.

Fan Cast Friday: (5/30/14)

Happy Friday! Take in some sun and crack open a cold one. Now let us fan cast!

Fan Cast: Deborah Ann Woll as Poison Ivy

Why?: This more than just about being a red head. Deborah Ann Woll has shined on True Blood for the last seven years as the once devout Christian Jessica Hamby. Deborah's Jess is turned into a vampire against her will during the first season of the show. From there on her character transforms from a scared church girl into a beautiful, strong, vampire seductress. On the show, vampire blood is a lot like the toxins Poison Ivy uses. If consumed by a human it creates uncontrollable sexual attraction to the vampire from which it came. Ivy's toxins have similar effects. On top of all that, Deborah's Jess has never shied away from some violence to help her cause just like Poison Ivy is willing to do for hers. Deborah has the looks, talent, and experience to play Batman's botanical foe. Check out Deborah's Jessica on True Blood when it returns for it's final season in June on HBO.

Editorial: Ranking the X-Franchise

With X-Men: Days of Future Past dominating the box office, what better time than the present to evaluate the X-films from best to worst.

7. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

Why?: This film takes the Weapon X storyline and wipes it's ass with it. With a boring plot, awful special effects, and characterizations that will make all X-fans cringe (WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO DEADPOOL!) X-Men Origins: Wolverine successfully creates a puke fest.

Worst of the Worst: Sewing The Merc with the Mouth's mouth shut.

6. X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)

Why?: Kelsey Grammar's Beast and Ellen Page's Kitty Pryde are nice additions to the ever expanding cast, but everything else in Brett Ratner's X-film is a huge disappointment. This movie unsuccessfully attempts to adapt The Dark Phoenix Saga. Ratner's lose vision and several pointless deaths hamper this third film.

A Moment of Greatness: The Juggernaut!

5. X-Men (2000)

Why?: This is the film that showed the general public that comic book movies can be taken seriously. Bryan Singer's first trek into the X-verse is a fun time that gives the X-Men a proper movie adaption. Characters like Cyclops fall short, but X-Men is a fine introduction to everyone's favorite mutants.

Fight Night: Beat down in the Statue of Liberty.

4. The Wolverine (2013)

Why?: A great character piece that adequately adapts Claremont and Miller's Japan Saga. Hugh Jackman once again shines as Logan and Rila Fukushima as Yukio is just excellent. The climax scene with the Silver Samurai and the twist that everyone saw coming a mile away are downers in an otherwise great story.

Badass: Wolverine vs. Shingen!

3. X-Men: First Class (2011)

Why?: This movie re-envigorated the franchise. With a completely new cast and a 60's setting, Matt Vaughn was able to tell us the story of the beginning of the X-Men. The First class may not be exact the original five (Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, Iceman, and Angel are the originals), but the main players for later films are there. Michael Fassbender especially stands out as Magneto while McAvoy, Lawrence, and Hoult were all welcome additions to the X-Men movie verse.

Holy Shit: Frankenstien's monster!

2. X2: X-Men United (2003)

Why?: The Raid on the X-Mansion. Nightcrawler in the Whitehouse. The Brotherhood and X-Men teaming up. This film is full of great moments. Brian Cox's Stryker is the most fleshed out villain of the series, besides Magneto of course. And this film excellently adapts the classic X-storyline God Loves, Man Kills.

BAMF: Nightcrawler assassination attempt!

1. X-Men: Days Of Future Past (2014)

Why?: The newest installment of the franchise is just plain awesome. Stellar cast, direction, and story. Infusing the best of new cast and the best of the old cast led to cinema magic. Check out my review for further insights.

WOW!: This film is full of worthy moments. This is the only one I could find on Youtube.

I can't wait until X-Men: Apocalypse. So then we have this discussion all over again. For more X-Men coverage follow us on Twitter @Caped_Informers or follow me @cstrand73. What's your list look like? Sound off in the comments.

Superhero Woman Crush Wednesday: (5/28/14)

Happy Wednesday! Let's crush on some lovely ladies.

Woman and Character Crush: Katie Cassidy and Laurel Lance

To the incredible Katie Cassidy,

Courtesy of 10 Things I Hate About You.

But on a more serious note, I do love Katie Cassidy. She has had some character arc troubles during her time on Arrow, but I am quite happy about where her Laurel Lance is headed. I always had confidence in Katie because of her excellent turn as the demon Ruby on Supernatural. Now it's time for her to use those old school Ruby fighting moves on the streets of Starling. And O, hey Felicity Smoak watch your ass. Laurel is moving back in on Ollie. #TeamLaurel. #NewCanary. That's right Katie Cassidy is the true Black Canary and will display it next season. Laurel will become everyone's favorite Arrow character. Love ya, Katie! You deserve to be the first ever dual character/actress crush.

"You're really cute when you're mopey."
Check out Katie kick some demon ass.

Now check out the funniest moment of Season 2 of Arrow with everyone's favorite gossip queen Slade Wilson.

Marvel Casts Their Daredevil Star?!

Latino Review is reporting that Marvel may have casted an actor to play our favorite blind super hero. Could "Stardust" star Charlie Cox be wearing the crimson suit, rockin the double D logo for the Netflix series? At this point it's just a rumor, but other sources seem to think its more truth than rumor. Go on and jump ahead and read the article but these are my thoughts. Never saw Stardust and I've never watched Boardwalk Empire but my fellow informers have said good things about it. As far as Charlie Cox goes, never heard of the guy, or seen him in anything. People seem to like him so maybe it will work out. My personal choice was going to be Michael C. Hall but us beggars can't be choosers now can we? I say give the kid the benefit of the doubt, although I did say the same thing about Zac Efron as well. What do you guys think? Let us know!

UPDATE:

Variety has now confirmed Latino Review's earlier rumor. Charlie Cox will indeed play Matt Murdoch/ Daredevil.  -Christian

Original X-Men Will Be in 'X-Men: Apocalypse'

In an interview with The Daily Beast, X-Men: Days of Future Past writer Simon Kinberg confirmed that some of the original X-Men trilogy cast will return for X-Men: Apocalypse. "It will focus primarily on the First Class cast, but it will certainly have some of the original cast involved, too." Kinberg told the interviewer.
So that pretty much confirms some more good old fashioned time travel. This next film seems like the perfect time for the franchise to cast it's younger versions of Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Storm. Hell if there is enough room bring in Gambit and Cable. The more the merrier. Can't wait for 2016 to see what happens to Wolverine and the rest of the gang in the 70's. #TeamBoneClaws. X-Men: Apocalypse is expected in 2016.

Superhero Man Crush Monday: (5/26/14)

Happy Memorial Day everyone! Let's crush on some dudes.

Man Crush: Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy first caught my attention in Chris Nolan's Inception, but it was not until I watched Warrior in 2011 that I thought this guy is a star. Hardy played the role of Tommy Conlon. He was able to showcase his acting prowess as well as show off his physicality. I mean the dude has the biggest traps I have ever seen. So when Chris Nolan announced that Hardy would portray Bane in the final Dark Knight film, I was over the moon. Hardy brought a menacing presence to the villain and with most of his face covered by a mask his eyes spoke volumes. Not to mention he spoke in perhaps a voice that is even more fun to imitate than Bale's Batman growl. But above all that Hardy is my man crush because of his fight with Batman in the sewer. Every line that comes from his Bane while he beats the Dark Knight into submission is quotable and just plain awesome. Thanks Tom. Once this MCM is posted, you have my permission to call me.

"Ah, yes, I was wondering what would break first. Your spirit, or  your body!"

-Christian

Character Crush: Colossus

Colossus is the metal morphing and super strong member of the X-Men. First introduced in 1975 he has become a staple in the X-men franchise ever since. Colossus has been my favorite X Man since they introduced him into the movies in X2. That was the first time when he finally got to show off his powers. When he is in his metal form Colossus doesn't need sleep, food, water, and his body has resistance to any metal on the planet except Vibranium. He is a soft spoken, gentle, and caring individual he has a had a long lasting relationship with Kitty Pryde but with Doop stepping in it doesn't look good for Peter. Colossus is a great X-Man, while he doesn't get the publicity like others do he is a great character and often keeps the other more impulsive members in their place. He is the strong moral center that every team needs.

"I don't give my word unless I mean to keep it."

Steven DeKnight Takes Over For Netflix's 'Daredevil'

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods) has left Marvel's Dardevil Neflix series in order to focus on writing/directing the Sinister Six film for Sony. Seems like Marvel was well aware of the impending departure and they have tapped Steven DeKnight (Spartacus: Blood and Sand) to replace Goddard as show runner. DeKnight has worked on many great TV projects in the past such as Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Smallville. But my favorite work of his is Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Just hours of gladiator fights, sex, and people spouting "Jupiter's cock!". If Daredevil is anything like Spartacus, the show is in good hands.

Director Edgar Wright Exits 'Ant-Man'

CBM.com has reported that Marvel Studios and director Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz) have parted ways due to "creative differences". Wright was set to first Marvel's Ant-Man or the first film of their Phase 3. Wright spent 6 years developing the project. The Studio will have to quickly find a replacement because the rest of the crew and cast are set to shoot. This a big blow to Marvel Studios that has had trouble with actors and directors in the past. When you are owned by the Big Mouse it's his way or the highway. My guess is Wright probably tried to inject some of his brand of comedy to the superhero genre and Mickey would have none of it because it doesn't fit into Disney's "family friendly agenda". Or maybe he really did just have "creative differences. well whatever, Fight the Power Edgar! Ant-Man is still expected Summer 2015.

'X-Men: Days Of Future Past' Review/Thoughts

The mutants are back on the silver screen today. So the Informers went to an early show to check out X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Expect very mild spoilers.

What We Liked:
  • Great infusion of new and old casts
  • The film promotes the X-Men message
  • The struggle of Mystique
  • Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique character evolution since First Class
  • Quicksilver's incredibly fun sequence
  • Young Prof. X's character arc, Great acting from James McAvoy
  • The always imposing Michael Fassbender's Magneto
  • 70's Wolverine's Bone Claws
  • Fun Rewrites of US History
  • Inventive uses for mutant's abilities
  • Excellent fight sequences in future + past
  • The entire Paris Summit Sequence
  • The 70's style vs. the bleak future
  • Time Travel Humor
  • The always evolving relationship of Prof. X and Magneto
  • References to past X-films
  • Design of the Sentinels in past + future
  • Bobby Drake finally Ice sliding!
  • Time Travel is not overly confusing

What We Didn't Like:
  • Bolivar Trask's motivations were a little weak
  • Continues the superhero movie trend of a need for "super blood"
  • Scenes with unneeded mutants like Havoc, Toad, and etc.
  • No Doop

Review: X-Men: Days Of Future Past combines the best components of X-Men: First Class and Bryan Singer's X-Men trilogy to create the best X-Men movie to date. The film utilizes all of it's stellar cast to tell a story of Wolverine, the always fantastic Hugh Jackman, being sent back to the 70's to stop a bleak future from ever happening. Now while Wolverine often has gotten the most attention of any X-Man in all the films, Days of Future Past is able to more neatly balance it's other characters so it does not feel like a movie called "Wolverine and some other guys". Particularly we get a great character arc from younger Prof. X (James McAvoy) who has hit rock bottom after losing his legs and Raven/Mystique. Charles's relationship with Magneto (Michael Fassbender) is as interesting as ever as the two must unite to stop Mystique from committing an act that creates the dystopian future. While on the topic of Lawrence's Mystique, her character has evolved a lot since we last saw her. Lawrence is impressive in every sequence she is in as her actions drive much of the film's plot. Overall the newest X-Men installment is extremely satisfying on all levels. For it's incredible action, balance of humor + action + gravitas, and top notch performances the Informers give X-Men: Days of Future Past a 9.5 out of 10. The best superhero movie of the year so far and a must-see for all X-Men fans. Can't for X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016.

Check out our podcast that will be posted this weekend to hear more about the movie. Until then make sure to follow us on Twitter @Caped_Informers and or follow me @cstrand73 to stay up to date on all things comics. Thanks for reading! What did you think of the movie? Sound off in the comments.

Fan Cast Friday: (5/23/14)

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! Crack open a beer and go see X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Let us fan cast.

Fan Cast: Michael Sheen as Doctor Octopus

Why: Michael Sheen is a veteran actor with years of experience playing complicated roles. He currently plays William Masters on Masters of Sex. Masters is very similar to comic book Otto Octavius in many ways. The two characters both had an abusive relationship with their respective fathers and also had dotting overbearing mothers that combined cause them dysfunction as grown men. If Otto became the evil "Doc Ock" in his classic comic book fashion, Sheen would have the role down cold. Using his time as Master's as a backdrop mixed with his villainous turns such as the vampire Aro in Twilight: New Moon give Michael the perfect combination of acting chops to play one of Spiderman's greatest foes. Check out Sheen in Masters of Sex back on Showtime in July.

Weekly Poll Analysis: Face of the X-Men Edition (5/22/14)

For this week's poll I asked "After Hugh Jackman's Wolverine Leaves in 2017, Who should be the face of the X-Men Franchise?" The winner by a large margin was everyone's favorite X-villain Magneto. He took in 36% of the votes.

The results went as follows:

Magneto (Fassbender): 36%

Prof. X (McAvoy): 18%

Cyclops (New Actor): 15%

Mystique (Lawrence): 10%

Gambit (Tatum): 8%

Nightcrawler (New Actor): 5%

Deadpool (New Actor): 5%

Beast (Hoult): 3%

Analysis: Since I posted this poll, Hugh Jackman has stated that he would like to continue playing Wolverine past 2017. This is great news, but at the same time make my poll a little invalid.  So I will just interpret our results as possibilities to fill Jackman's shoes eventually once he hangs up his claws.

Magneto: No surprise here. I expected Magneto or Prof. X to win this poll. Fassbender is a hot actor in Hollywood and Magneto is defintly a popular enough character to anchor the franchise. The question remains though "How long will Fassbender play Magneto?" Jackman has played Wolverine for the last 15 years. I do not see a scenario with FOX retaining Michael's services for that long. His massive junk is in high demand. Although he does seem to enjoy playing the character. I believe that Michael will be around for one more X-Men film after X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016. Hopefully we get a few more bar murders from him before he leaves.

Cyclops: I recently re-watched X-Men and X2. Cyclops is barely in either of those films. That poor bastard James Marsden (Enchanted) never caught a break. He was only around to be part of a love triangle between himself, Wolvie, and Jean. It is about time Prof. X's favorite student got his due. FOX should cast a young up-n-comer to play Scott. If Fassbender or McAvoy were to leave, this new Cyclops could be the future focus of the franchise.

Deadpool: He is perhaps not the character to anchor the franchise, but goodamnit does he deserve his own spin off film. An R-rated Deadpool film would redefine the genre of superhero films. R- rated action-comedies like 21 Jump St. make millions of dollars at the box office. Imagine what an R-rated action-comedy-superhero film led by the Merc with the Mouth could make? BILLIONS. Not really, but definitely a cool 500 mill.

Short and sweet this week due to Mr. Jackman's flip-flopping. Who do you think should be the anchor of the X-Franchise? Who should play Deadpool? Sound off in the comments.

Superhero Woman Crush Wednesday: (5/21/14)

Justice may have just dawned, but WCW has been around a long time. Let's crush on some beautiful ladies.

Woman Crush: Katrina Law

My WCW is Katrina Law who plays Nyssa Al Ghul on Arrow. She is the bad ass daughter of the Demon's head. She kicks ass and takes names. Not to mention she kissed Black Canary. It was the most sensual and beautiful moment of TV I have ever watched. I teared up a tiny bit. So for being a real bad ass bitch Katrina earns my woman crush.

"My father is the Demon's Head."

-Brady

Character Crush: Mystique

Mystique, Raven Darkholme, is the queen of shapeshifting and a prominent member of the Brotherhood of Mutants. She can transform into anything she pleases. Impersonating an important world leader or pretending to be a house cat is easy for Raven. What is really amazing about her though is that she is just as beautiful and deadly in her natural blue form as compared when she has shapeshifted. Mystique is an expert martial artist as well as a first rate seductress. She can go toe to toe with most any of the X-Men in a fight or manipulate any man to do what she desires of him. Under Magneto's guidance she has become proud of her natural blueness. This has led to her assassinating many anti-mutant figures to further the Brotherhood's goals. She is also the mother of Nightcrawler (My favorite X-Man). Every time Nightcrawler teleports a sound goes off "BAMF!". Every time the lovely Mystique shape shifts the noise should be "MILF!".  Keep fighting for the mutant cause Raven. Catch Mystique Friday in X-Men:Days of Future Past.

'Man of Steel' Sequel Gets a Title!

Warner Bros has released the official name and logo for Zack Snyder's Man of Steel sequel. The film will be titled Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. The new title almost assures this film will be a lead-in for a Justice League movie. I would have preferred they just call it Batman vs. Superman, but I guess the new title is alright. Batman Begins already used the word "begins" and The Dark Knight Rises took the word "rises" so I guess all that was left to describe a beginning of justice was the word "dawn". Sounds a little "Twilightly", but maybe it will grow on me. What do you think of the title? Sound off in the comments.

Jessica Chastain To Star in True Detective Season 2?

Nerdist.com is reporting that Oscar-nominated actress Jessica Chastain (The Help) has been offered a lead role in Season 2 of HBO's True Detective. Show creator Nic Pizzolatto was rumored to be writing a more female centric story for the show's sophomore season. Chastain would bring some major acting credentials and a strong female presence to the show. Sounds like a win-win. As for Chastain's potential partner the most suspected actor is Brad Pitt (Inglorious Bastards). His name has been rumored since the Season 1 finale. If I was to make a guess I'd say Pitt will be in Season 2. Over the weekend Pitt was seen throwing a beer from across a balcony to Season 1's star Matthew Mcconaughey. Sure as hell looks like a "thanks for believing in me" beer to me. True Detective will shoot this summer and be released next January.

Arrow Season 3 Updates!

So as we all know, Arrow's Season 2 just ended last week. So to build anticipation for Season 3 some of the cast was recently interviewed by TVLine.com. Here's some of the things they discussed.

1. So obviously the speculations begin with who will take over the big bad spot while Slade is locked away in jail. In my opinion I hope it's Komodo. I recently started reading Jeff Lemire's Green Arrow and Komodo is one bad motherfucker. I would love to see him come to Starling City and all sorts of madness.

2. Thea obviously went off with her new daddy but does that mean she's coming back as a bad ass? John Barrowman who plays Macolm Merlyn thinks so. It's a pretty safe bet Thea is going to become much more bad ass then we have seen.

3. Lastly and probably the lost exciting news, Miss Katie Cassidy has hinted that she will be taking over the black leather and Canary status. YES YES YES! This will be amazing what more could you possibly ask for?

All in all I'd say season 3 is slowly becoming more amazing by the minute. Make sure to check back here for more Arrow updates as they come in.

Source: TV Line

A Few Notes from Christian:

1. I want my main man Brick as a villain at some point this season, continue the meta-human trend.

2. Thea becoming learning to fight will be interesting. A possible Season 3 finale showdown of Malcolm and his disciple Thea against Ollie and his sidekick Roy. Feels would be all over the place.

3. Laurel becoming the real Canary pleases me. I became less enamored with Caity Lotz as season 2 went on so hopefully Laurel's Canary will have a better lasting impact. This also brings in a possibility of Ted Grant, Catman, coming into Starling to train Laurel. DC comics heaven. I also have begun to enjoy Cassidy's acting more and more. Adding her to the Arrow cave will do wonders for her character's arc. Less pills and booze and more salmon ladder bars.

Tuesday Title Pull List: (5/20/14)

Super Hero Man Crush Monday: (5/19/14)

Happy Monday everyone! Time to crush on some heros!

Actor: Ian McKellen

Ok guys os this weeks crush is something a little different from our usual actors. The great Ian McKellen. Although his age and his looks don't match up to some of our past crushes, he is more than capable of taking this weeks mcm. Here's why. Ian has played one of my favorite characters of all time from movies. Gandelf the Grey/White. He is a fantastic actor filled with wisdom, and just a lot of fun to watch on screen. Also, this week just happens to be Xmen week and we all know how great he portrays the mighty Magneto. What he lacks in his youngness, and good looks which we usually look for in our weekly crushes, he makes up for with his power to deliver a certain character on the big screen. He is a very talented actor who deserves to be our mcm for this week!

"Are you a god fearing man Senator? It's such a strange phase.I always thought of God as a teacher. As a bringer of light, wisdom and understanding. I think you really are afraid of me. Me and my kind. The brotherhood of mutants"

-Brady

Character Crush: Wolverine

Wolverine is probably the most well known member of the X-Men. His healing factor and adamantium claws combined with his brutish nature make him one of the most dangerous mutants in the Marvel universe. He has lived over 150 years and has learned very much in his extended time on Earth. Logan uses this knowledge and experience to combat his natural animal instincts. If Wolverine does happen go into a berserker rage during a fight, that opponent is done for. All of these characteristics of Logan have been carefully translated to the screen by actor Hugh Jackman. Logan you are an amazing mutant. Fuck Sabretooth indeed, bub.

  • Thea Queen's farther arc
  • Flashbacks involving Slade's descent into madness
  • Expanding the DC TV universe such as inclusions of Cyrus Gold and Brother Blood
  • The Final Showdown Between Ollie and Slade
  • Keeping Slade alive

What We Didn't Like About This Season:
  • The overall acting from the Lance Sisters
  • Laurel's alcoholism
  • Weak one episode villains like Shrapnel
  • Not Enough Diggle
  • Ollie and Sarah's Will They-Won't They
  • Ollie and Felicity's Will They-Won't They
  • Second half of the season's Amazo flashbacks were mostly weak
  • The Sizzle of Sarah's Black Canary real fizzled by season's end
  • The return of Jessica De Gouw's Huntress
  • Roy's trip to a homeless shelter and subsequent capture

Best Fights:
Arrow vs. Nyssa in the episode 'Heir to the Demon'
Arrow vs. Deathstroke (Present)/Ollie vs. Slade (Flashback) in the episode 'Unthinkable'

Best Lines of the Season:
Felicity: "I may be a bitch, but I'm a bitch with wifi."
Ollie: "I detest swimming."
Slade: "Remember I made you a promise, kid."

What To Add for Season 3:
Bring Ras Al Ghul to Starling
Expand the Suicide Squad
Crossover with Flash
NIGHTWING!!
Continue to slowly incorporate meta-humans

Overall Review: Season 2 of Arrow brought Ollie further down the path of becoming a true hero. He gave up on killing his enemies and was forced to face an enemy that he mistakenly created from his past. Slade was the foe worthy of a full season arc. He brought meta-humans into the show naturally and created almost more trouble than Ollie could handle. Slade broke Ollie down to his core and showed us what Oliver Queen is really made of.
The inclusion of Barry Allen and other DC nuggets added even more excitement to Ollie's journey. Such additions like The League of Assassins and Suicide Squad expanded the DC TV universe and make for exciting future villain possibilities. As for Amanda Waller, she can make an interesting antagonist for the flashbacks and present timeline of the show.
Diggle and Felicity continue to be the best side characters. Felicity is funny and consistently provides Ollie with pump up speeches. As for Dig, I wish we got more of him. Sometimes he was pushed aside for other characters to shine, but when he finally did get the spotlight we got great eps like Suicide Squad. In addition, I love how Paul Blackthrone's Officer Lance has become the Commissioner Gordon of the Arrowverse.
Laurel and Sarah Lance were the weakest actors on the show. Now that being said, it does not mean that they didn't have their bright spots. Particularly Katie Cassidy's Laurel learned of Ollie's secret and became a more overall useful character for the future of the show. Caity Lotz's Black Canary on the other side of the spectrum could serious ass.
So for all it's exciting action, excellent villains, and interesting characters stories, the Informers give Season 2 of Arrow a 9 out of 10.
