Superhero Women Crush Wednesday (6/18/14)

Hey guys! its Wednesday we all know what that means. Time to crush on some of the ladies in the super hero world.

Actress: Anna Paquin

This week for my crush, I decided to choose Anna Paquin. Paquin is best known for her role as Sookie on True Blood, but I chose her because of her Rogue in the X-Men franchise. Anna is a great actress and through out all the X-Men movies that she was in, I loved the way she portrayed Rogue. I was very pleased to see her return in Days of Future Past after the time line was reset. She has great looks, and is a fantastic actress, and hopefully we can see more of her in the upcoming X-Men Apocalypse reprising her mutant role.

Character Crush: Barbara Gordon (Batgirl or Oracle)

Barbara Gordon has had quite a journey over the years. She became a capable crime fighter alongside Batman. During that time engaged in an on-again off-again with Dick Grayson. Then the Joker paralyzed her in the famous storyline The Killing Joke. Most people would wallow in sorrow or give up on the vigilante lifestyle for good. Instead Barbara didn't give up. She used her computer skills to reinvent herself as a guide to the Bat-family known as Oracle. For years Oracle was an essential part of the Batman mythos until current continuity had Babs get her legs back and take back the mantle of Batgirl. No matter what future obstacles Barbara may face, she will always come out a greater hero.

Barbara's Batgirl first showed up in Batman: The Animated Series in the episode Shadow of the Bat Pt. 1+2. An amazing two parter with a great score. Give it a watch sometime.

Superhero Woman Crush Wednesday: (6/11/14)

Woman Crush: Allison Mack

Mack's Chloe was a new addition to Clark Kent's supporting characters on Smallville. Chloe, one of Clark's best high school friends, was the ace reporter in Clark's life before he met Lois. Blessed with skills of detection and hacking, Chloe was the perfect sidekick to help The Boy Scout save the day. Throughout 10 seasons her loyalty never wavered. She was that true friend from high school whose friendship and compassion last a lifetime. She was the Felicity Smoak to Clark's Oliver Queen, injecting humor and wit into every episode. Allsion Mack thank you for added a new interesting character to the Superman mythos.

Character Crush: Zatanna

As my first official post into this blog, I get to start it off with one of my favorite female superheroes, Zatanna Zatara. This young Magi can take anyone's heart away with her devilish good looks and uncanny magic ability. As one of the few people in the DC universe with the powers of magic, she is a formidable foe to any of the super villians, as long as she can keep her concentration and speak her incantations. From being childhood friends with Bruce Wayne in one version to being with the Young Justice League in another, Zatanna is one of the more well liked female superheroes in the DC universe, plus with that fishnet stocking look how can anyone dislike her?

Superhero Women Crush Wednesday! (6/4/14)

Happy Wednesday! Lets crush on some ladies...

Woman Crush: Emily Bett Rickards

The brains behind Team Arrow is my week's crush, Emily Bett Rickards. Emily is a fantastic actress in my opinion. I thought she brings a great vibe to Felicity's character during the show with her wit and her blonde remarks. I thought that was the greatest part of her character during the show even though how smart she was with technology and her hacking skills, she still could provide some laughter. Also, look at this girl. Is she not one of the most attractive actresses to ever be posted on our site? I know personally she had my attention the first time she walked on screen. I love a girl with glasses, a brain, and knows when to throw in a sexual joke here and there. Well deserved crush this week for Miss Rickards.

Character Crush: Black Canary

Dinah Laurel Lance is one of the strongest women in the DC universe. She is a lawyer by day and crime fighter by night. Using her metagene that enables her Canary Cry she destroys the eardrums of evil doers. And if that doesn't work she is an expert martial artist as well. Black Canary has strong ties to several other heroes in the DC world such as Ted Grant, but her most notable association is Green Arrow. Like Mr. Incredible and Elastic Girl, Ollie and Laurel are two crime fighters that found love between the punches. Black Canary is also a member of the all female crime fighting team Birds of Prey. Her smarts, beauty, and skills all make for a perfect crush.

Superhero Woman Crush Wednesday: (5/28/14)

Happy Wednesday! Let's crush on some lovely ladies.

Woman and Character Crush: Katie Cassidy and Laurel Lance

To the incredible Katie Cassidy,

Courtesy of 10 Things I Hate About You.

But on a more serious note, I do love Katie Cassidy. She has had some character arc troubles during her time on Arrow, but I am quite happy about where her Laurel Lance is headed. I always had confidence in Katie because of her excellent turn as the demon Ruby on Supernatural. Now it's time for her to use those old school Ruby fighting moves on the streets of Starling. And O, hey Felicity Smoak watch your ass. Laurel is moving back in on Ollie. #TeamLaurel. #NewCanary. That's right Katie Cassidy is the true Black Canary and will display it next season. Laurel will become everyone's favorite Arrow character. Love ya, Katie! You deserve to be the first ever dual character/actress crush.

"You're really cute when you're mopey."
Check out Katie kick some demon ass.

Now check out the funniest moment of Season 2 of Arrow with everyone's favorite gossip queen Slade Wilson.

Superhero Woman Crush Wednesday: (5/21/14)

Justice may have just dawned, but WCW has been around a long time. Let's crush on some beautiful ladies.

Woman Crush: Katrina Law

My WCW is Katrina Law who plays Nyssa Al Ghul on Arrow. She is the bad ass daughter of the Demon's head. She kicks ass and takes names. Not to mention she kissed Black Canary. It was the most sensual and beautiful moment of TV I have ever watched. I teared up a tiny bit. So for being a real bad ass bitch Katrina earns my woman crush.

"My father is the Demon's Head."

Character Crush: Mystique

Mystique, Raven Darkholme, is the queen of shapeshifting and a prominent member of the Brotherhood of Mutants. She can transform into anything she pleases. Impersonating an important world leader or pretending to be a house cat is easy for Raven. What is really amazing about her though is that she is just as beautiful and deadly in her natural blue form as compared when she has shapeshifted. Mystique is an expert martial artist as well as a first rate seductress. She can go toe to toe with most any of the X-Men in a fight or manipulate any man to do what she desires of him. Under Magneto's guidance she has become proud of her natural blueness. This has led to her assassinating many anti-mutant figures to further the Brotherhood's goals. She is also the mother of Nightcrawler (My favorite X-Man). Every time Nightcrawler teleports a sound goes off "BAMF!". Every time the lovely Mystique shape shifts the noise should be "MILF!".  Keep fighting for the mutant cause Raven. Catch Mystique Friday in X-Men:Days of Future Past.

Superhero Woman Crush Wednesday Continued 5/14/14

Continuing to crush on the lovely ladies of the Superhero world...

Superhero: Storm

In honor of XMEN: Days of Futures Past, I figured I would make this weeks woman crush Storm. As far as Xmen go, I feel she is very underrated. Yes she's been featured in most of their movies, but not much is talked about Storm. What is not to like about her you may ask? Well plain and simple she can control the weather. Lightning, thunder, winds, tornadoes, rain, snow, and all sorts of things. That's like a handful of powers put into one mutant. It's hard to compete with that. Plus it doesn't hurt that she is very attractive while she does it. Ya I think when her eyes go white its very sexy. I think she is very deserving of this weeks wcw, and I look forward to see her in Days of Futures Past and so should all of you.

"I call the power of lightning to purge evil!"

Superhero Woman Crush Wednesday: (5/14/14)

Happy Wednesday everyone. It's time to crush on some lovely ladies.

Woman Crush: Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence is the current queen of Hollywood and deservedly so. She has rapidly ascended into mainstream popularity over last few years mainly from her excellent portrayal of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games franchise. But what really makes Jen special as an actress is her work in character driven films. Two years ago she earned the Oscar for Best Lead Actress for role of Tiffany Maxwell in Silver Linings Playbook. I remember hearing she was only 21 at the time of filming. I was amazed at how natural her acting alongside her romantic counterpart in the film, Bradley Cooper who 37 at the time. "There's an expressiveness in her eyes and in her face, that many stars have to work for, that's ageless," said director of Silver Linings Playbook David O. Russell. Lawrence continued her trend of holding her own alongside older Hollywood elite, Bale, Adams, Renner, Cooper in American Hustle. She stole the film with her performance as "Picasso of passive aggressive karate" Rosalyn Rosenfield. She was an absolute force in the movie, every time she was onscreen you took notice. Next on the docket for Jen is portraying the beautiful Mystique next week in X-Men:Days of Future Past. From the previews looks like typical Jen. Taking names and kicking ass. Jen, I volunteer my soul and heart to you on this very special WCW.

"Can we go one fucking conversation without you mentioning my dead goddamn husband."

Watch her dance with Rocket Raccoon in this classic clip.

Super Hero Women Crush Wednesday (5/7/14)

Happy Wednesday everybody out there! We have got some great women crushes for you this week so lets just go ahead and get started...

Woman Crush: Scarlett Johansson

ScarJo! So hot right now. No, but seriously, if any women actress who has played a great super hero deserves the women crush Wednesday weekly shout out its her. Just a all around bombshell. Great body, great face, and great glutinous maximus to boot. But there are other features to Ms. Johansson that make her this week's choice. She brings such a great bad ass attitude to her black widow character. Most recently in Captain America: Winter Soldier, all of her scenes were fantastic. Great action, very cunning, and just an awesome character to watch. And just like my boy Dick Grayson, I enjoy a good red head here and there.

"Public displays of affection make people very uncomfortable"

Character Crush: Wonder Woman

Diana is the most famous female superhero of all time. Every person knows about her indestructible bracelets and lasso of truth, but not everyone knows her origin story. It has been re-invented for the New 52. Diana is no longer a child born from clay, but rather conceived from a night of raucous passion between her mother Hippolyta and Zeus. Diana is now a demi-god. And as one, she must deal with the craziest family of time, the Greek Gods. You think you have a weird uncle? Trying having Hades make you come down to hell for Sunday dinner. Her new family ties really make her unique within the DC universe. She is part of an array of gods and demi-gods with diverse powers and backstories. Half of her family are enemies and the other half are allies. It is her uniqueness, bravery, and overall badassery that make Wonder Woman such a compelling character. So Diana if you ever wanna get the world's best ice cream, I know a place.

Superhero Woman Crush Wednesday: (4/30/14)

Woman Crush: Emma Stone

The year was 2007, I was a plump sixteen year old watching Superbad in a theater with my father, when it happened. I saw a young beautiful red headed actress appear onscreen alongside a very plump Jonah Hill. I thought she had great timing comedic timing, but what really drew me to her was every word she spoke felt natural. Even though she was playing a role, you felt that a part of her really was the cool girl who you could joke about dicks and hymens with. Fast forward seven years later. With several projects under her belt and her real blonde hair finally revealing itself, Emma Stone has become one of Hollywood's most beloved actresses. In 2011, Emma nabbed the role of Peter Parker's first love Gwen Stacy. Her Gwen was intelligent, understanding, and beautiful. Emma brought her natural likability to the character and because of that, the chemistry between Gwen and Peter has been the highlight of the Amazing Spiderman franchise so far. In my book Emma will forever be that insanely funny cool girl next door. That girl who just has a smile that makes you want to smile. So check her out in The Amazing Spiderman 2 opening in theaters Friday.

"Easy, Bug Boy."

Check Emma kicks Jimmy Fallon's ass in a Lip Sync battle two days ago. Winning lip singing battles and being awesome is just the Emma Stone way.

-Christian

Character Crush: Catwoman

For every great super hero, there is always a women who is either trying to rob him, get with him, or fight him. Today that woman is Catwoman. Ah yes Miss Selina Kyle is quite the character in Gotham City. Anyone running around in a black leather body suit who think she's half cat is A-Ok in my book. Plus the flexibility and the sneakiness doesn't bother me either. Although she has no powers or isnt even exactly a hero, Catwoman never stops amazing me. I bet you didn't know this but the chick can fight folks. She knows some pretty sweet combat moves, and knows how to make a great escape. Who wouldn't want that in a women? I'm not talkin about the creepy "I got attacked by cats so now I'm Catwoman". I'm talking about the classic Selina whose sly and knows her way around a good crime and robbery. So Bats, is it too much to ask to share and let us simpleton bloggers get a shot at Catwoman?? Well deserved character women crush for this Wednesday.

Superhero Women Crush Wednesday 4/23/14

Women Crush: Miss Caity Lotz.

Don't know who that is? Watch Arrow every Wednesday, she is the lovely Black Canary. Now before Arrow, I had no idea who she was, or what other projects she as been in, but does it really matter? All that matters is every Wednesday she runs around in a little tight black leather suit and looks hot. Is she the best actress in the world? I don't think so, but she is still the perfect pick for today's women crush. Also it happens to fall on Arrow day! So Caity keep doing what you're doing, keep kicking ass every week on Arrow, and keep looking hot as hell in that suit.

"Next one goes into your chest. Let him go"

Character Crush: Artemis (After the Time Jump)

Young Justice was taken from us too early. The late-great show added many different dimensions to the DC Universe during it's two seasons. Though no addition was as beautiful and passionate as Artemis. She became Green Arrow's sidekick and the main archer of "The Team". She was an aggressive archer who is never afraid to voice her opinions, who was always out to prove herself to her fellow super friends because her parentage gave her a little bit of a bad streak. She was the daughter of Huntress and Sportmaster. She should have turned out like her sister Jade and became a criminal, but Artemis was better than that. She fought her way towards the path of heroism and away from her father's kill or be killed culture. After the time jump, Wally West and Artemis were a full out couple. So Kid Flash and Artemis, I was wondering if I could unicorn in sometime? I mean I picked you both as my crushes this week, I deserve some kind of reward, right?

"I feel naked. And not in a fun way."

Superhero Woman Crush Wednesday: 4/16/14

Woman Crush: Erica Durance

I was big fan of the show Smallville. Well, rather a big fan of the first four seasons, but what kept me around for the rest of the series was Erica's portrayal of Lois Lane. Her Lois was independent, strong-willed, and sexy. Everything that makes Lois the amazing character that she is. Erica, I may not look like Tom Welling, but I do have a Superman T-shirt so I got that going for me. So call me, beep me if you wanna reach me, if you wanna page me, thats okay.

"Official warning- I'm a third degree black belt. That means I cannot be held liable for any funeral costs."

Character Crush: "OHHHH MR. J?!?!?!"....Thats right folks Miss Harley Quinn. She's a bad bitch, the Joker's side piece but my god she's a babe. What more could you ask for in a women. Harley has got it all. She's got the looks, the attitude, and she ain't afraid to get her hands dirty either. For a pretty sick and twisted person, The Joker really knows how to pick his ladies. Plus I have a thing for blondes, so I just can't help to think to my self, if she was ever to appear in live action (possibly Arrow?) she would have to be played by a blonde smoke show. Either way, Miss Quinn you have my heart, never change.

"Aw, c'mon Puddin. don'tcha wanna rev up ya Harley? VROOOM VROOM!"
