First Trailer For CBS's Supergirl!

Superman's cuz just booked her new time slot at 8 PM on Mondays this Fall and because of this CBS has been kind enough to give us our first look at the show. Check it out.

5 Takeaways From the Trailer

1. Kara is rocking that Clark Kent-esque disguise. That classic glasses look, that can somehow hide a superhero's identity. I hope the writers come up with an explanation on that works today in a society where everyone has a camera phone ready to snap a pic of your face.

2. Supergirl isn't gay.

3. That shot of Kara blasting the truck is boss. She is the first of the DC TV heroes to have super strength and I wanna see that shit showcased.

4. I get that Superman is her cousin (And if you didn't know that the trailer will tell you 50+ times), but this show needs to distance Kara from Clark. Make her the lovable hero. Don't just tease the cousin that will never come. That's how you end up being like Gotham. A show that is all about giving winks winks to it's audience, but has zero substance.

5. Supergirl's sister masturbates to She's All That (Don't we all?) and dated Captain America.

Thanks for reading! Are you excited for Supergirl? Are you okay with Jimmy Olsen being hot? Let us know in the comments or tweet at us @Caped_Informers or me @cstrand73. And make sure to tune in for our weekly Arrow, Flash, and Daredevil reviews.

Arrow "Uprising" Review

Arsenal and Black Canary come up with a last ditch effort to save the Glades from Brick as his connection to Malcolm Merlyn is revealed. (SPOILERS!)

Episode Description: Still without Oliver, the team is forced to consider Malcolm's offer; more details of Malcolm's life are revealed.

High Points:
  • Really enjoyed the Malcom Merlyn flashbacks. Always interesting to see the flashbacks use someone other than Ollie.
  • The team work between Arsenal and Canary is really growing on me. Together they have proved they can kick some serious ass.
  • Robert Queens returns in some flashbacks!
  • Diggle continues to prove to be the moral center and daddy figure of the team.
  • Felicity is a genius and her brilliance is a key driving force for Team Arrow.
  • The Glades fight scene was an incredible bit of TV. Christian and I both agreed it had some resemblances to The Dark Knight Rises. You don't usually see things like that on network TV, unless its Game of Thrones.
  • Wildcat vs Brick was a hell of a brawl. Watching Wildcat fight was a lot of fun.
  • Welcome back Ollie Q. Such a badass way to come back and tell your city "they did not fail" in his absence.
  • If you're not excited about Merlyn training Ollie, you must have no pulse.
I hope Malcolm teaches Ollie these moves

Low Points:
  • Felicity, I'm sorry but you are starting to become the Lana of this show. All you do is whine and complain about everything. Shape up, you're a member of Team Arrow there are no complaints.
  • The actor who played a young Tommy Merlyn was awful.
  • Would have liked to have seen an explanation to how Ollie's healing process. That whole sequence happened very fast, yet nothing was explained.
  • No Ray Palmer this week. He's been a reason to come back week after week, but I guess all the greats need a week off.
Felcity and Ollie in the final moment tonight
Verdict: Well you couldn't have asked for a better episode this week people. Action, suspense, top notch flash backs, and the return of a hero. All ingredients for a perfect Arrow filled cake. The flash back scenes were a great addition to the characterization of Malcom Merlyn. We often don't get to see any other back stories besides Ollie's so I very much enjoyed it. All the events of the present though led to Ollie asking Malcom to train him for a rematch against Ras Ah Gul. Personally, I love this. You mean to tell me two bad ass archers are now going to be training together, learning from each other, and becoming more bad ass. What's not to love (unless you're Felicity). I guess the only question I have is what does this mean for Team Arrow now? We saw in tonights episode, a whole range of emotions about having to team up with Merlyn to stop Brick. Does that mean that they are going to be hurt Ollie is now working beside him?  Also tonight we saw the debut of Wildcat as a vigilante. Very cool addition to the Arrowverse and his fight with Brick really proved what a great fighter he is. Ya did he get his ass handed to him? He did, but he'll be back my friends, he will be back. On a final note I want to touch on this whole Felicity nonsense. As I mentioned in the "low points" section she has become such an annoyance and whiner. She get's all the air time while taking away from Big Daddy Dig and others who deserve it. The CW likes to do this with all their shows, and I get that, but this is too much. As I digress, I'm happy Ollie is back, and I'm excited too se what comes next for these guys.
All in all I give tonights episode a solid 8.5 out of 10!

Thanks for reading guys. How did you like tonight's episode? Do you like Ollie training with Merlyn? Feel free to comment and tweet at us @Caped_Informers. Make sure to tune into next week's episode "Canaries".

Editor's Note: Ollie lied to Thea about meeting up with an old buddy in Bludhaven and getting thrown in the slammer. I hope that friend would be Dick Grayson. Ollie and Dick would slay all the red heads in the DC-CW universe. Best tag team since Gronk and Edleman.

Netflix's 'Daredevil' Adds Rosario Dawson

Netflix's Daredevil announced today the addition of Rosario Dawson (Sin City: A Dame To Kill For) to it's cast. Dawson's role is currently unspecified, but according to Marvel's Head of Telvision Jeph Loeb (Smallville“Her role in the series is absolutely critical to Matt Murdock’s journey to become the hero we know as Daredevil.”

Dawson could be playing any number of characters. The most likely suspect in my opinion is Karen Page, Daredevil's longtime girlfriend who is later murdered by Bullseye. Hopefully if I'm right, Bullseye's casting will be right around the corner. Netflix's Daredevil will be available to stream in early 2015.

Superhero Woman Crush Wednesday: (6/11/14)

Woman Crush: Allison Mack

Mack's Chloe was a new addition to Clark Kent's supporting characters on Smallville. Chloe, one of Clark's best high school friends, was the ace reporter in Clark's life before he met Lois. Blessed with skills of detection and hacking, Chloe was the perfect sidekick to help The Boy Scout save the day. Throughout 10 seasons her loyalty never wavered. She was that true friend from high school whose friendship and compassion last a lifetime. She was the Felicity Smoak to Clark's Oliver Queen, injecting humor and wit into every episode. Allsion Mack thank you for added a new interesting character to the Superman mythos.

Character Crush: Zatanna

As my first official post into this blog, I get to start it off with one of my favorite female superheroes, Zatanna Zatara. This young Magi can take anyone's heart away with her devilish good looks and uncanny magic ability. As one of the few people in the DC universe with the powers of magic, she is a formidable foe to any of the super villians, as long as she can keep her concentration and speak her incantations. From being childhood friends with Bruce Wayne in one version to being with the Young Justice League in another, Zatanna is one of the more well liked female superheroes in the DC universe, plus with that fishnet stocking look how can anyone dislike her?

Fan Cast Friday! (4/25/14)

Its Friday, Friday, I'm not gonna finish that last part because Rebecca Black is a disgrace, but It is Friday and that means Fan Casts from your favorite informers!

Fan Cast: James Purefoy as The Joker

Why?:
I chose James Purefoy as The Joker. Purefoy has been in a lot of projects such as Solomon Kane, Rome, John Carter, and most recently The Following. Now his role in The Following is the soul reason why I think he would make a great Joker. As we all know, The Joker is a mad man, a psychopath, and just flat out crazy person whose one mission is to destroy everything around him including Batman. James Purefoy's character in The Following is very similar. He plays a psychopath killer with no regard for human life. They share the same resemblance there, but that is not the only reason why. In one of the most recent episodes, he comes face to face with the protagonist of the show and tells him  "you will not kill me and I will not kill you. Why? Because we need each other we make each other feel alive, we push each other to keep going that next step". Now if that's not Joker to Batman talk right there, I don't know what is. Leading up to that scene I always thought Purefoy's acting in this role reminds me a lot of a live action Joker, but now I was sold after watching that scene. So James Purefoy, maybe work on a laugh? Learn to put white make-up on? Keep up the good work and maybe we could see you playing the clown prince of crime one day.

Fan Cast: Jensen Ackles as Matt Murdoch/Daredevil

Why?:
For the last 9 years Jensen Ackles has been salting corpses and exorcising demons as the sexy Dean Winchester on CW's Supernatural. Jensen has the athletic build to be able to pull off Daredevil's physique. and the intimidating presence that demands respect in a court room. Hell, for 9 seasons he and Jared Padelecki have basically been doing what Matt and Foggy do, except instead of stopping human evil-doers they stop ghosts. So I think it's finally time for Jensen to take that the leap from demon hunter to superhero. He has been taking baby-steps towards super-heroism for years. Back in 2004, he played Clark Kent's football coach Jason Teague on season 4 of Smallville. Then in 2010, he voiced Jason Todd/Red Hood in the much beloved DCAU film Batman: Under the Red Hood. So now in the year 2014 with a Daredevil Netflix series preparing to cast it's lead role, I ask Jensen to put down the stake and pick a White cane and some sunglasses.
THIS FAN CAST IS DEDICATED TO MY BIG SIS, ANDREA. HAPPY 24TH, YOU OLD BITCH!

-Christian

Tune in every Friday for a new Fan Cast! Who do you think should play the Joker? Who should play Daredevil?

Superhero Woman Crush Wednesday: 4/16/14

Woman Crush: Erica Durance

I was big fan of the show Smallville. Well, rather a big fan of the first four seasons, but what kept me around for the rest of the series was Erica's portrayal of Lois Lane. Her Lois was independent, strong-willed, and sexy. Everything that makes Lois the amazing character that she is. Erica, I may not look like Tom Welling, but I do have a Superman T-shirt so I got that going for me. So call me, beep me if you wanna reach me, if you wanna page me, thats okay.

"Official warning- I'm a third degree black belt. That means I cannot be held liable for any funeral costs."

Character Crush: "OHHHH MR. J?!?!?!"....Thats right folks Miss Harley Quinn. She's a bad bitch, the Joker's side piece but my god she's a babe. What more could you ask for in a women. Harley has got it all. She's got the looks, the attitude, and she ain't afraid to get her hands dirty either. For a pretty sick and twisted person, The Joker really knows how to pick his ladies. Plus I have a thing for blondes, so I just can't help to think to my self, if she was ever to appear in live action (possibly Arrow?) she would have to be played by a blonde smoke show. Either way, Miss Quinn you have my heart, never change.

"Aw, c'mon Puddin. don'tcha wanna rev up ya Harley? VROOOM VROOM!"
